So there's no better time to start planning what to do with all that lovely produce that's going to be available. Whether it's your homegrown fruit and vegetables or what you can pick up from Farmers' Markets and shops there's an abundance out there to be made use of. Those of you practised at pickling and canning will have your hands full preparing the produce for the winter months but don't forget your Food Storage! Dehydrators are a simple and cheap way to start making the most of this bounty, and don't think it's just fruit you can dehydrate, all manner of vegetables are also suitable for drying. |

The UK does not directly import any major amount of wheat from Russia, however it will be interesting to see how this affects the price of wheat in the months to come.
On top of this the Farmers Guardian reports that the UK wheat harvest for 2009 dropped by around 3.4 million tonnes to 13.9 million tonnes.
